Week 7: Monday

In the pit today we were introduced into our new project and briefed on what we will be learning. For the last two weeks we will be looking at coding which I feel will be quite a challenge but am excited to see how it will bring a website together.

In the studio we looked how we access a website when trying to find a specific topic or thing. I worked with my partner and we looked at the steps to that were taken by a user to find 'what electives CoCa offers for 300 level' It was interesting to see how badly it was played out and that frustrations of having to scroll through a PDF. It was a good example go how it is easier to have a website and Tabs. Overall I found that the Massey CoCA electives site was not very user friendly. 

Next we looked at brainstorming ideas for our topic for our assignment. At the moment I am leaning towards doing Food Sustainabilty and looking at the idea what steps can be changed in your kitchen to minimise food waste. I could also explore the idea of how to eat organically and free-range. Steps of setting up your own vegetable garden or free-range chickens. 

For homework we then need to look at coming up with prototypes and deciding our topic.
